Rainy Day PDF Sock Pattern
I love rainy days, and I know so many other people do too! These socks feature an easy to memorise cable pattern inspired by the joy of sitting in on a raining day and shamelessly having a knitting day!
Please note the pattern is written for magic loop style sock knitting. It is toe up using a Turkish Cast On, and with a German Short Row heel. There are brief instructions for method conversion to other sock knitting methods (DPN’s and 9” circulars).
Sizes: 60 (64) 68 (72) stitch size. Please pick the size with your normal stitch count for socks.
Gauge: 8 sts per 1” inch/2.5 cm in stockinette or 32 sts per 4” inches/10cm
Materials: Sample was knit in Bombed Yarns Indigo Dyed Gradient Set 75% SW Merino/25% Nylon (approx 400m/100g). Sample shown in pictures is a U.S Womens 6.5 used approx. 200m on 60 stitch count.
Pick your favourite indie dyed sock yarn or commercial sock yarn.A bold solid colour, tonals or gradients look great in this pattern.
Recommended Needles: 2.25 mm needles
Notions: Tapestry needle, and an optional cable needle. Helpful hints and tricks to cable without a cable needle are given in the pattern.
